Sightseeing

Today we met with a few other WACAP families and did some sightseeing. They are only here for a few days for their consulate appt and then they leave on Wednesday. I'm so jealous! We are here for another 9 days. We went to the Yuexiui Park, a Buddhist Temple and a shopping mall where they only sell jewelry, jade, pearls and other stones. We didn't buy anything today but have plans to make purchases later in the week.

We saw only the Five Goats (Rams) statue in Yuexiui Park. Yuexiui Park is the largest park in Guangzhou. I wouldn't mind going back and spending more time there -- maybe later in the week.

Our next stop was the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees where we observed the Buddhist monks performing their ritual chants and burning incense.

Kimberly is finally warming up to daddy and even fell asleep on him on the way back to the hotel after sightseeing. She will even let him feed her and hold her. Progress!

Kathryn and Kimberly are still fascinated by each other. It's amazing and heart warming to see how well Kathryn has taken to being a big sister.

Tomorrow we have an appointment to go to the police station to apply for Kimberly's Chinese passport. It shouldn't take too long so we will still have quite a bit of free time. After this we only have two more appointments: the medical exam and the consulate appt.
