Today's the day!
It's hard to believe that we will finally be holding Kimberly this afternoon!
This morning didn't start off so well with Kathryn waking up at 4:30am and not being able to go back to sleep. Dad finally got up at 5:30 and mom followed at 6:00am. Mom is not morning person! I'm hoping this is not a way of preparing us for an early rising baby!
Before this blog is overrun with pictures of adorable babies and active toddlers I want to talk a little bit about our hotel. It's an amazing 4 Star hotel located on Shamian Island called the White Swan. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Every floor has several attendants that are stationed at the elevators. They are there to press the elevator buttons for you and in case you need anything else. They also seem to be very taken with Kathryn and love to pet her head and smile at her.
The hotel is very beautiful with an indoor waterfall and Koi pond and singing birds. Here's are some pictures that we took this morning.
One of the most wonderful things about this hotel is the breakfast buffet. It's huge and the food is wonderful! Some of the items are: scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausages, French toast, baked beans, noodles, potatoes, beef. pot stickers, omelette's made to order, fresh fruit (bananas, Asian pears, star fruit, pineapple, etc), dim sum, congee, pastries, toast, cheeses and much more. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it! The service is amazing! As soon as your plate or glass is empty somebody is there to take from you. It's all you can eat so if you want more you just get another plate. The room has a full view of the Pearl River.
We spent the morning walking around the hotel and looking at the waterfall. We took Kathryn to the play room for a while. She really enjoyed playing in there because she could spin and dance and not be told to watch out for the breakables. :) There were some babies in there that were little but they were already at least a year old. I can't even imagine what size Kimberly is!
Stay tuned for our Gotcha photos!
