Update on what's been happening
Kathryn got sick Thursday night with the "stomach flu", mom followed on Sunday night and Dad on Monday night. For the last 4 days very little has gotten done to prepare to leave. Dad did manage some errands on Monday. He stayed home to take care of Kathryn who was better and mom who was not. Everybody is finally on the mend and should be back to normal in the next day or so. At least we all got sick while we were still home! Now we have to make up for lost time!
Our visas arrived on Tuesday morning. Yeah! That's the last major hurdle we had to overcome. It feels good to have our passports and visas back in our own hands. It turns out that the visas are now good for one year instead of 90 days. If we had known that we would have gotten them sooner.
Packing is the next major task. We need to get everything set aside and packed up so that we know if we still need to get something. I also still need to organize all our paperwork. It will all get down since we still have 5 days before we leave. The time is going to go by fast!
Our agency confirmed this morning that we will be traveling alone this time and not with a group. Apparently we were the only family that could travel on such short notice. It's going to be different to be by ourselves but it will give us lots of down time to bond as a family.
