Medical exam & red couch

It is medical examination and U.S. Visa picture day for Kimberly. We met up with a couple from Alaska who arrived yesterday evening from another province with their new son. They are part of our mini travel group for the rest of our stay as they will be leaving on the same flight to Seattle on Wednesday.

Her photo session did not go well. She started crying when the person taking the picture shook a noisy rattle in front of her to try to get her attention. Thus, her official picture is one with her in tears.

Kimberly did not enjoy her experience at the medical examination clinic. She started crying when the first doctor touched her and was scared/frightened at each of the other stations.

However, she was given a clean bill of health. Her official weight was 7.3 kg (16.1 lbs) and height was 67.5 cm (26.6 inches). Afterwards, we returned to our room to fill out the last of the official paperwork.

After lunch, we got the girls dressed in their matching Chinese dresses and went downstairs for the traditional "Red Couch" pictures. Both kids were getting tired so they were not very cooperative.

Finally, a glimpse at Kathryn's "bed" in our room. It is basically an armchair with its matching footstool pushed together. A folded queen-sized blanket is tucked in to form a sleeping bag for her. She really likes her kid-sized bed.
